When the egg production drops off, I remind my laying hens that it's "eggs or legs, ladies.". One of them seems to have taken the prompt a little too seriously. From left to right ... normal chicken egg, duck egg, and ... drum roll ... freakishly, large chicken egg!
That's like giving birth to a 9 lb baby! I know how she feels. Maybe I should take her an ice pack ;).

ReplyDeleteNone of mine were double yolkers - all singles, but three of the five were very large ;).
They may not be "double yolkers", but they sure are "good eggs."
